I agree with what Anoop says, its the patnerships that count, not the individual scores. The key to India's score of 600 was the patnerships Dravid stiched together with patel, laxman, ganguly, yuvraj & the tail. I cant just keep the smug look of my face thinking what miandad, zaheer abbas et al would have been thinking looking at the Indian score progress. this is what THEY used to do to the Indian bowling attack, in the late 70s & 80s. Looking at those indo-pak match scorecards is a pain...a deep deep pain.. Some of my most painful memories have been associated with India-Pak matches..

India chasing Pakistan's 216 in bangalore in 1987, Gavaskar summoning all of his 16 years of test experience in a monumental innings on a minefield of a pitch to take India to the brink..of a series winning victory..Sachin & Mongia batting resolutely against saqlain & akram in chennai, again India fell short by 11 odd runs with the last 4 wickets falling for less than 5 runs.. salim malik's 72 of 37 balls in eden gardens, miandad's six against chetan,...i try to keep it locked away in some deep recess of my memory. Atlast we have built a team which seems capable of applying salve on those deep wounds.
