was recently reading gaurav's blog , where he proceeds to choose a world 11
hmm..my world 11 would be..the criteria being i would pick players from their form in the last 2 years:
1) hayden
2) michael vaughan (i pick him over sehwag & gibbs..simply coz choosing sehwag & gibbs is like a lottery, while vaughan is a more solid player..against both pace and spin...c'mon he scored 3 high class hundreds against australia..when they had mcgrath/lee/gillespie/warne all playing together...)
3) dravid
4) kallis
5) andy flower (wk)
6) stephen fleming (captain)
7) andrew flintoff (for my money the second-best allrounder in the world..after kallis)
8) warne
9) gillespie
10) shane bond (for sheer strike power)
11) murali
12) ponting
coach : john bracewell
this team has everything you can for..two solid openers, stong middle order, two quality allrounders, a good wicketkeeper batsman, two all time great spin bowlers, two out and out strike bowlers, and two supporting seam and swing bowlers..there are no weak fielders..and hayden /flintoff/warne in the slips will be a unbeatable combo. Of course..last and not the least..the team has some overwhelming brain power in fleming/bracewell..both of them have been doing wunders with limited resources..think what they will acheive with such a stellar star cast
