Saw Man on Fire, on Sat. The film is pretty well shot, with seedy shots of Mexico city, but the plot frankly, veers towards the ludicrous. Denzel plays a bodyguard to a little girl, daughter of a mexican tycoon. Predictably the girl is kidnapped, and Denzel badly wounded in the process. When he recovers, Denzel goes on a gory retribution spree, hacking, blasting his way through the villainous chain of command. Its here that the dir, as the aussies would say, loses the plot. The manner in which Denzel unearths the villains and tortures his way through to the top boss seems too simplistic, and the way in which the mobsters fall prey to him also seems pretty easy. There are the expected twists and turns in the end, the acting apart form Denzel and the little girl, leaves mush to be desired. All in all, give it a pass.
