Gangster!

The movie allegedly based on Abu Salem's life, is a avoidable flick. I generally avoid watching movies which have Hashmi in it, but due to paucity of movies , decided to go for it. The story line is about a girl drinking away her worries in South Korea, coz she can't get over her past traumas.
Enter our knight in shining armour, Mr Hashmi, who fiegns friendship to the girl, when any idiot can tell that he has ulterior motives. Predictably he is soon bedding the girl, and after the night of passion when she is done cooing soft goodbyes to him, enter her past in shape of Shiny Ahuja. Soon he is bashing up Hashmi, which has the hole audience going gaga with joy unlimited, and trying to get his girl back. But aah...the movies from Bhatt's stable dont work this way, once a girl has had the taste of the famous Hashmi lips they stay stuck.
The movie predictably moves to betrayals and counter betrayals, with Hashmi turniing out to be a cop , who claims to the unfortunate girl, that he wooed her out of his sense of duty,and patriotism.Yeah right, duty. The girl who soon discovers a streak of self rightoesuness, puts Hashmi out of his misery, (preventing future such dutiful deeds) and ends her life by practicing bungee jumping without the rope. so all the three main characters end up dead, which has me clapping my hands with glee.
I tell myself that I must be falling behind in my movie watching, since I cant , for the life of me figure out the original "inspiration" for the movie. As for the actors, Kangana is insipid, and must do somethng abt the voice, which sounds somewhat like my nails scratching across my skin. Shiny Ahuja is the saving grace and deserves roles with more meat. Hashmi , is well Hashmi. The music is nice, though ..soft and hummable.
